  26.     ║   Among the smallest jet aircraft developed with third-level airline ║
  27.     ║   operations in view, the Corvette was also marketed as an executive ║
  28.     ║   jet, and was evolved especially to meet North American             ║
  29.     ║   requirements.  It originated shortly before the Sud-Nord merger    ║
  30.     ║   into Aerospatiale. The prototype flew on July 16, 1970 but was     ║
  31.     ║   lost during flight development.  The first full production         ║
  32.     ║   standard aircraft flew on November 9, 1973, and French             ║
  33.     ║   certification was achieved on May 28, 1974.                        ║
  34.     ║                                                                      ║
  35.     ║   Air Alps a French local service airline, had two in service by     ║
  36.     ║   September 1974, one of these being in full Air France livery for   ║
  37.     ║   operation on the Lyons-Brussels route as depicted in this model.   ║
  38.     ║                                                                      ║
  39.     ║   The Corvette 100, as the initial production version, had a crew of ║
  40.     ║   two and up to 12 individual passenger seats in two rows, and could ║
  41.     ║   be fitted with wing tanks to extend range.                         ║
  42.     ║                                                                      ║
  43.     ║   The Corvette proved to be a little too small for the market it was ║
  44.     ║   designed to fulfill.  Production ended in 1977 at a total of 40.   ║
  45.     ║   Several Corvettes were in service in Europe and North Africa in    ║
  46.     ║   the early 80's for scheduled airline operation, others being used  ║
  47.     ║   for air taxi, charter and business flying.                         ║
